Obituary

Abington – Eleanor M. (Clark) Williamson, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2010.

Ellie was born in Avon, daughter of the late Marion T. (Reynolds) and Myron R. Clark of Pembroke.

She worked at Avon Sole Co. in Avon as a cook in the lunchroom owned by her parents. Her enjoyment of cooking continued as she worked in the cafeterias at Abington Jr. High and the Woodsdale Elementary School for twenty years. She became the Head Cook at Stonehill College in 1980 in Easton. She also worked at the Holy Cross Center preparing meals for Father Bartley McPhaidin, President, C.S.C. of Stonehill College until her retirement.

Making a commitment to God at Avon Baptist Church, she lived her faith and was an active member of Olivet Memorial Church, in Brockton and at First Baptist Church of Abington. For many years she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the FBC Women’s Fellowship. She also served as a Deaconess. She was a volunteer for Songtime, Inc and for Kay Doherty of Sharing, Inc. in Braintree.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Williamson and is survived by daughters, Marion S. Hammond and husband Gil of Florida, Sue E. Norton and husband Hal of Abington, and the late sons, Robert L. Williamson and wife Cindy of Lyndonville, Vt., and Joel Williamson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Her love for the Lord was an inspiration to all who were fortunate to know her.

Friends and family are invited to her visiting hours to be held Friday November 12 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, and to a celebration of her life to be held Saturday November 13 at 2 PM in the First Baptist Church, 219 Adams Street, Abington.
