Rodney S. Overy, 65, of Hampton, died November 5, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Boston.
He was born in Wisbech England, November 23, 1944, to William and Ellen (Garwood) Overy.
He received his high school education at Western High School, Detroit. In 1962 he attended the University of Michigan, in 1963 on a football scholarship. In 1964 he enlisted in the United States Air force, and served with the Blue Berets. Later he studied Criminal Justice as St. Anselm College.
As a result of his injuries sustained during his service in Vietnam, he remained a Disabled American Veteran for over thirty years.
Rod enjoyed reading and older movies. The joy of his life was babysitting and looking after his grandchildren. He and his wife raised their family in Manchester, moving to Hampton six years ago.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include his wife Patricia (Turcotte) Overy, of Hampton; his children, Michael and his wife Stacey Overy, of Derry, Kimberly and her husband Kevin Czarnecki, of CT; 6 grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Ryan, Maxwell, Drew, Emma.
A committal service took place on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH .
