PEORIA…Deborah M. Opper, 55, of Peoria, passed away at 3:32 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2010 at her home with her family by her side.
Debbie was born on September 11, 1955 in Peoria to Lloyd and Dorothy Cook Opper.
Among those family members surviving are her father, Lloyd (Doris) Opper of Tuscon, Arizona; one daughter, Emily Opper, at home; two brothers, David (Mary) Opper of Baytown, Texas and Douglas Opper of Washington; two step brothers, Vaughn Elgass and Steve Bastedo and one step sister, Latrice Kilpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one step sister.
Debbie had been a consultant for more than 20 years for Mary Kay Cosmetics in the Peoria area, a job she truly loved. She also had worked for the Logistics Department of Caterpillar in Morton.
She was a 1973 graduate of Washington Community High School. In her spare time Debbie loved spending time with her family, friends and pets, as well as taking time to her garden and raising flowers.
Debbie passed away Friday after losing a two and half year courageous battle against cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 9 at 11 a.m. at Washington Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Browning officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington and also one hour prior to services at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Memorials for Debbie may be made to either the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation for Cancer Research or Washington Christian Church.
