NATICK: Peter S. “Pete” Regan, 44, died on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 from injuries sustained in an accident with his family at his side at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
He was born in Framingham on October 26, 1966 the son of John F. Regan, Jr. and Ellen B. (O’Connor) Regan.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Jaye G. (Smith) Regan of Natick. Pete was the cherished father of Christian K. Donahue and Heidi Elizabeth Regan both of Natick. Pete was the loving son of Ellen B. (O’Connor) Regan of Easton and John F. Regan, Jr. and his wife Lois Brown of Natick. He was the brother of Sheila F. Rayyan and her husband Omar of West Tisbury. Pete also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pete has been a lifelong resident of Natick and was a graduate of Natick High School with the Class of 1984. He was a graduate of The Denver Diesel and Automotive Academy in Denver, CO and was an experienced mechanic and a Licensed Hoisting Engineer. Pete also received his AS in Business Administration from Massachusetts Bay Community College. For several years, Pete was associated with the Town of Natick DPW, Water Division. Pete also worked for several years with his father at Regan Septic Pumping Company of Natick. He was a graduate of the Boston Fire Academy at Moon Island and began as a call firefighter for the Town of Wayland in October 1995. He was appointed a firefighter in January of 1997 and has been with the Wayland Fire Department for 13 years as a Firefighter/EMT and served as the departments main mechanic. He was a member of Local 1978, the Wayland Fire Fighters Association, the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Fire Apparatus Association for Mechanics.
He was an active member of Cub Scout Pack 40 of Natick. He enjoyed ice hockey, designing, making and playing the guitar; he loved music and enjoyed doing projects at his home. Pete had a warm and unique sense of humor and touched many lives in his few short years.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends are invited and requested to go directly to St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central St (Rte. 135), Natick for Pete’s Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Regan family lot in St. Patrick Cemetery in Natick.
