Obituary

Margaret E. (DeRaleau) Hemingway, 97, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in Radius Healthcare Center of Worcester. She leaves a son, Arthur C. Hemingway of Perris, CA; two daughters-in-law, Helen Hemingway and Ellen Hemingway; 17 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; and many great- and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Hemingway in 1975, three daughters: Arlene Dumas, Josephine Dumas, and Pearl Collins and a son, Richard Hemingway.

Margaret was born in Millbury, daughter of Godfree and Henrietta (Hurdle) DeRaleau. She was self-educated and worked at Robinson Thread Company for many years. She also worked at Brewers Drugs Company. Margaret was a life-time member and Past President of the VFW Post 3657 and member of District 8 Color Bearer of Past President's Association of the VFW. She was a member of the 1050 Club, Charter Member of AARP Bancroft Chapter, and Parents without Partners. She will be well missed by all of us.

A private viewing was held on Friday, Nov. 5, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Oxford.
