Helen J. Adams, 85, of Derry, NH, died Friday, November 5, 2010 in the Warde Health Center in Windham, NH. She was born in Worcester, MA on August 15, 1925, to the Rev. August and Adele (MacKay) Holm. Helen taught Literature on the college level for 38 years following degrees from Wheaton College (Ill.) and Columbia University, New York.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Warren E. Adams of Derry; and daughters Beth Bruner of Derry and Carol Malouin of Nashua. The family also includes grandchildren, Christy, Mackenzie, Nicholas and Hayley; and two great grand-children Tayah and Emma Grace.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, Helen's ashes will be scattered at the family's convenience. A service of celebration was held at the Windham Presbyterian Church, 1 Church Rd., Windham on Saturday, November 13th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Rockingham VNA Hospice, 137 Epping Rd., Exeter, NH 03833, or to the Africa Inland Mission, P.O. Box 178, Pearl River, NY 10965. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
