ARLINE MARGUERITE (KILGORE) TWOMBLY, of Englewood, FL, formerly of Hingham, died on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at her home. She was born on Oct. 16, 1927 in Newton, MA to Damon Merrill Kilgore, Jr. and Effie (Munroe) Kilgore. She lived in Hingham until 1994 when she moved to Florida. While living in Hingham, she was an active member of the Eastern Star, the Rebekkahs and Daughters of the Nile. In Englewood, whe was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild and the Englewood Fun Chorus. She also enjoyed attending Senior Fellowship meetings.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth I. Twombly, Sr. and mother of Karen M. Martel, Sheryl J. Holden and Laraine E. Twombly all of Englewood, FL, Kenneth I. Twombly, Jr. of Dudley, NC, Susan D. King of New Port Ritchie, FL, Ronald B. Twombly of Hingham, John E. Twombly of Pembroke and George M. Twombly of Braintree. Also survived by her brother John William Kilgore of NH, 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers; Damon Merrill Kilgore,III, Charles Bradford Kilgore; and sisters, Jean Kilgore Ashcraft, Diane Ruth Kilgore Hauswirth and Lois Scofield.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at 11 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mayport St., Englewood, FL.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Thursday, Nov. 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. The interment is to be private.
