NATICK: Diana (Armata) Jones. 90, died peacefully in the care and comfort of her family on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Natick of September 13, 1920 the daughter of the late Giacomo Armata and Giovana (Scavuzzo) Armata.
Diana is survived by her beloved and devoted children Virginia M. Lefter and her husband Louis of Centerville; Roberta A. Jones, Charles A Jones and Joanne N. Jones all of Natick. She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer Bent of Natick, Meredith Lefter and Louis Lefter, Jr. both of Centerville. Great-grandmother of Taylor and Joseph Bent. She was the sister of Vita Nichols of Natick; Mary Popolizio of Palm Bay, FL and the late Virginia and Antonio Armata. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Diana has been a lifelong resident of Natick, attended the Natick schools and was a graduate of Natick High School. She was a long time communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church in Natick and was devoted to her faith. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed by them. Diana especially enjoyed spending time with her family and loved Christmas with them. She was a talented cook and baker and will be remembered for her canolis.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central St (Route 135) Natick.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm at the Bourne National Cemetery with her late husband William F. Jones who died in May of 2009.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial gifts in her memory be sent to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place,
