TAUNTON – Donald W. Keesey, husband of the late Carolyn (Ware) and Eileen (Avilla) Keesey, died at Morton Hospital on October 31, 2010.
He was 77.
Born in Stuart, Iowa he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Curry) Keesey.
Educated in Iowa schools, he later received a master’s degree in accounting.
He served in the U.S. Navy for over twenty years, during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
In 1977 he moved to this area with his late wife Eileen and made Taunton home.
Mr. Keesey was employed by the former Paul A. Dever School as a pharmacist for over twelve years.
He enjoyed and loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves a son, Robert Martin Keesey of GA; two stepsons, James J. Kilgore of Athens, TX and John F. Kilgore of Kemp, TX; two stepdaughters, Judy M. Devlin of Taunton and Jo Ann Atwood of Mesquite, TX; a brother, Richard Dean Keesey of Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Dawn Kilgore, James A. Devlin, Kaleigh A. Devlin, Barbara Ann Kilgore, Christopher Rhen, Amie Marie Kilgore, Johnny F. Kilgore, Joslyn Cierra Weems and Chance Randall Weems; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Loretta Joy Noach and Marion Keesey.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
