Obituary

Priscilo P. "Pat" Neves, 77, of New Bedford died Friday December 12, 2003 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Domingo DaLomba Neves and Regina (Pina) Valles, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Mr. Neves was the proprietor of Pat's Restaurant and Common Park Restaurant for several years. He had also been employed by the University of Rhode Island as a chef on their oceanographic research vessel "Trident", on which he traveled the world. Previously he had been a chef aboard tankers for the Exxon Corporation.

He was a member of the Bisca Tournament Club and the Exxon Annuitant Club.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Priscilla J. Neves of Milton, and Kerrie Gomes of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Angelica Rose of New Bedford; a brother, David Valles of Port St. Lucie, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Eva, and Autumn; and several nieces, nephews, and aunts.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday December 15, 2003 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday December 14, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
