WASHINGTON…Janet M. Wind, 69, of Washington, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010 at El Paso Health Care Center in El Paso.
Janet was born on May 18, 1941 in Peoria to Vernon and Eileen Ackerman Smith. She married Don Wind in Washington on October 15, 1960. Don survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dawn (Dan) Blunier of Groveland and Jill (Mark) Phares of Romeoville; one sister, Elaine (Ron) Row of Washington; two brothers, Vernon C. (Verna) Smith and Lonnie (Janice) Smith both of Washington and six loving grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Rachel, Noah, Katie and Nic. Janet was preceded in death by one grandson, Blake Blunier.
Janet had been an active member of Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church prior to her illness, and participated in many of the activities with the women of the church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church with Pastor Ken Sistrunk officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be at the church from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements.
