Bernadine H. Fauber, 92, of Metamora passed away at 3:00am on Saturday October 30, 2010 at Snyder Village in Metamora.
She was born on Dec 11, 1917 in a farmhouse in Metamora where Snyder Village sits today, the daughter of Joseph Amanda (Winkler) Durst. She married Carl E. Fauber on July 25, 1934 in Peoria. He passed away on April 3, 1997.
Surviving is one son Kenneth (Sharlene) Fauber of Metamora two daughters Joan (Richard) Garber of Peoria and Darlene (Loy) Sloan. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren Tracy (Nick) Bauman; Mark Garber, Mindy Sloan, Becky (Bob) Byrne, Todd (Lisa) Garber, Valerie (Jeff) Cooper, Jody (Rich) Eichacker, Kenneth (Chip) Fauber, Also surviving are 23 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and two sisters Evelyn (late Don) Westefer of Chillicothe and Geraldine (Lawrence) Kenyon of Metamora and one brother Gerald (late Wilda) Durst of Lacon. Six brothers Howard, Harlan Quentin (Jim), Cliff, Joe, and Wesley Durst preceded her in death.
She was the owner and operator of Faubers Greenhouse and Florist in Metamora from 1943 until 1975. She was an American Legion Auxiliary-Spring Bay Member for over 50 years. She was a member of Metamora Christian Union Church. Bernadine was loved and appreciated by family and friends
Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday Nov 2nd at Metamora Christian Union Church with the Rev. Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm until 8pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Further visitation will be one-hour prior to services at the church.
