TEWKSBURY - Patricia A. (Keon) Ashe, R.N., age 79, a nurse at Saints Medical Center for over 42 years, died Friday evening, October 29, at the Lawrence General Hospital after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Ashe Jr., who died in 1995.
She was born in Lowell, August 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Philip and Mabel (Farrell) Keon, and raised in Lowell. She graduated from Lowell High School as a "Girl Officer" with the Class of 1949. She entered the St. John's School of Nursing, and graduated as a Registered Nurse with the Class of 1953. She began her career at St. John's Hospital in 1953, and retired from Saint's Memorial Medical Center, in 1995, after 42 years of service at the hospital. During those years, she received numerous awards and honors including Nurse of the Year.
She was a member of Saint William's parish in Tewksbury.
She is survived by four children, Susan B. Flagg of Manchester, NH, Nancy J. Brown and her husband Joseph of Windham, NH, William M. Ashe and his wife Wendy (Stone) of Hollis, NH, and Robert D. Ashe and his wife Virginia (Danner) of Londonderry, NH; three brothers, Edward Keon of Lowell, Richard Keon and his wife Betty of FL, and Philip Keon and his wife Nancy of Tewksbury; ten grandchildren, Dr. David D. Flagg of Hamburg, Germany, Capt. Steven M. Flagg, U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, Haley M. Brown and Olivia L. Brown both of Windham, NH, Alexander J. Ashe, Hillary E. Ashe, Abigail P. Ashe, and Nathaniel W. Ashe all of Hollis, NH, Kyle R. Ashe and Farrah M. Ashe both of Londonderry, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother-in-law of the late Douglas Flagg, and sister of the late Gerald Keon.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 2, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the Saints Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 7075, Lowell, MA 01853, will be appreciated.
