
Mamie Lee Collum Plemmons, 95, of Brookfield died Friday, October 29, 2010, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Haynesville Cemetery. Rev. Gary Cadwell and Rev. Dorise Yancey will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Plemmons was born on July 29, 1915 in Lacon, Alabama and was the daughter of George Marion Collum and Sara Ida William Morris Collum, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lamberth Plemmons, who died in 1985; two sons, George Harvey Plemmons and Leroy Plemmons; one daughter, Sara Evelyn McDowell; five brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren, Jeffery Lee Crawford and Dixie Arnett Nolan. She was a homemaker and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Haynesville, Georgia and a member of Brookfield Baptist Church. She had lived in Elko for 30 years and in Brookfield for the past 18 years. She was a member of the Brookfield Community Club and well-known for making cakes.
Mrs. Plemmons is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Millard and Grace Plemmons of Little Rock, Arkansas; four daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Joe Crawford of Jacksonville, Florida, Lucille Peroni and the late Joe Peroni of Newburg, New York, Evie Jean and Kenneth Willis of Brookfield and Linda G. Evans and Tom Bradford of Aiken, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren and their spouses, Saralyn and Keith Smith, James Millard Plemmons, Virginia Lee and Wayne Edelon, Paul Garfield and Robin Plemmons, Elizabeth and Jonathon Walker, Gary Lamar and Cleta Crawford, Anita Faye Plemmons, George Harvey Plemmons Jr., Harold Plemmons, Marsha Smith, Bobbi and Vince Erzinger, Laura E. Gilmore, John J. Marullo Jr., Roberta A. and David Kratochvil, Anthony L. Marullo, Matthew Lee Plemmons and Tammy W. and Terry King; 12 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
