Barbara A. (Walsh) Pittman, 83, died October 28 in Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Douglas J. Pittman.
Born in Boston on April 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Latona (Currier) Walsh. She was raised and educated in Dorchester and Norwood. Barbara was a graduate of St. Catherine of Siena School. Barbara moved to Danvers in 1962 where she and her husband raised their family.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Pittman of Wakefield, RI, Patricia Pittman of Salem and Jessica Doyle of Danvers, her siblings, Richard Walsh and Nancy Golden, both of Walpole and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings John and Frank Walsh and Evelyn Aberly.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Tues., Nov. 2, 2010 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Vst. Hrs are Mon from 5-8pm at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., PO Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
