Ruth M. Walne, 85, of New Bedford died October 28, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Albert and Melba (Smalley) Walne, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
Ruth was formerly employed by St. Luke's Hospital for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, search for word puzzles and loved animals especially cats.
Survivors include her cousins, Lillian Thomson of Taunton, Thelma (Smalley) Sloss of Prince Edward Island, Canada, Gilbert Walne of Florida.
She was the cousin of the late William, James and Louise Rooney, Eleanor Smith and George Allen Smith.
She was the sister of the late Linton Walne.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 1st at 10 AM in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, P.O.
