OBITUARY
Fitchburg
Effie E. Fiskaali, 95, formerly of Fitchburg, Ma., died Monday October 25,
at Apple Rehab in Saybrook, Ct. after a long illness.
Effie was born in Lunenburg. Ma. February 11, 1915, the daughter of Oscar
and Maria (Luomala) Fiskaali and lived most of her life in Fitchburg. She
graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1934.
Effie had been employed by the Federal Government most of her working
career, first during WWll with the War Department as a clerk in the
Inspection Division, American type Founders, Cowdrey Division in
Fitchburg, and after the war until her retirement, with the Social Security
Administration in Fitchburg and Boston.
Effie was a member of the Finnish Center at Saima Park, The Business and
Professional Women's Club and the Fitchburg Art Museum.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Mrs. Donald (Saima) Stiles in 1944,
Mrs. Vaino (Christine) Jarvi in 1991 and Viola I. Fiskaali on April 17, 2005.
Effie leaves her niece Nancy Stiles Nangle and her husband Paul of
Madison, Ct. with whom she had been living for the last five years, since
Viola's death.
Funeral services for Effie will be held on Saturday October 30 at 11:00 A.M.
in the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg, Ma. Rev. Edward R.
Neuhaus will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. A calling
hour will be from 10 to 11 A.M.
