Mr. Richard Allen Edens, age 51, Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Fairfield, CA on April 4, 1959. Mr. Edens was a construction worker and was a member of the New Life Christian Worship Center. Mr. Edens was preceded in death by father: Ralph Eugene Edens and sister: Annetta Reed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Life Christian Worship Center with burial following in the Refuge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include: wife: Cynthia Flanders Edens; daughters: Nicole Smith and Nicole Brooker both of Douglas, GA; sons: Richard Allen Edens, Jr., West Green, GA, Shawn Brooker and Jay Brooker, Douglas, GA; mother: Pauline Edens, Douglas, GA; brothers: Leland Edens, Steven Edens and Mitchell Edens all of Douglas, GA, Robert Edens, Crestview, FL; sister: Melissa Murray, West Green, GA; eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
