NORTH GROSVENORDALE, CT – Rita A. (Tasi) John, 78, of 20 Jezierski Road, died Tuesday, December 9, in Hubbard Regional Hospital, after an illness. Her husband of 37 years, Theodore K. John, died in 1989.
She leaves a son and his wife, Charles T. And Judith M. John of Cresson, Pa; a daughterand her husband, Elizabeth T.and David J. Jezierski, of North Grosvenordale; a brother, Nicholas Tasi, of Canton, MA; 7 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. 4 sisters, Olga Vasil, Julia Vangel, Mary Parella and Margaret Tasi predeceased her.
She was born and raised in South Boston, in the midst of the roaring twenties, daughter of Sitir and Thomiai Tasi, and lived in Southbridge for 50 years before moving to North Grosvenordale in 2000. She worked as an assistant in Filene’s of Boston and was a member of the Albanian Church Choir of Boston. After marriage she and her husband raised a family. She enjoyed knitting, tatting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday, December 12, at 10:00 AM in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Southbridge. There are no calling hours.
