METHUEN – Sr. M. Rose Irma (Cecile Alice Vanasse), 98, left for her heavenly reward Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the St. Claire Residence.
Sr. Rose Irma was born in North Hampton, MA, on July 7th 1912, to Ludger C. and Rose Delia (DeGrandpre?) Vanasse.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada on February 12, 1932 and pronounced her first vows July 31, 1934. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and St. Michael High School in North Hampton. She studied at Rivier College in Nashua, NH where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. During her 75 years as a religious, she taught school, gave music lessons and served as organist at several parishes. In 1994, she retired at the Saint Claire Residence.
She was predeceased by 5 brother and 5 sisters. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 26th from 2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the St. Claire Residence at the Presentation of Mary 209 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2:30PM. at the Presentation of Mary Chapel with burial in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Methuen. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 223 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA.
