Obituary

SALEM - Celia H. (Michalak) Kompa, 88, of Salem, wife of the late Theodore K. “Ted” Kompa, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Kindred Hospital - Northeast in Waltham following a long illness.

Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Josefa (Przanowska) Michalak. She was a resident of Salem for most of her life.

Prior to her retirement, Celia was employed for many years in the offices of Almy’s Department Store in Salem. In her retirement years, she worked for Time Share, also of Salem.

Mrs. Kompa is survived by one son, Michael T. Kompa of Salem, one daughter and son-in-law, Linda H. and Ron Hayes of Hamilton Square, New Jersey, grandchildren, Michael and his wife Christina Hayes and Stephanie Hayes, and a great grandchild, Connor Hayes, all of Hamilton, New Jersey. She was the mother of the late Debra A. Garro and sister of the late Regina Jean and Hedwig Bell.

Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, Salem.
