Obituary

Louise E. (Silva) Veiga, 91 years, of Stoughton and Canton, died Friday October 22, 2010 at Blue Hill Alzheimer’s Center in Stoughton. She was the wife for 61 years of the late John Veiga. Born in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Candida (Pina) Silva and was a graduate of Canton High School. She had been employed by American Bilt-Rite, formerly of Stoughton and retired from L.E. Mason Co. of Hyde Park. She loved the color purple, bingo and watching old movies on TV. She took pride in physical fitness and would walk several miles a day. Also, she was well known for being very strict in managing the family budget. While a resident of Stoughton she was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

She was the mother of John J. Veiga, Jr. of Plymouth, Robert V. Veiga of Silver Spring MD, Wayne M. Veiga of West Bridgewater, Pamela A. Guilford of Brockton, Patricia L. Veiga-Phillips of Stoughton and Kenneth B. Veiga of Stoughton; grandmother of Christine Veiga, Wayne Veiga, Jr, Diana Veiga, Danielle Phillips, Daniel Veiga, Denae Phillips, Lauren Jones, Tiana Veiga, Julian Guilford, Julia Jones and Davon Veiga-Donovan; great grandmother of Jaden Veiga; mother of the late Albert A. Veiga; sister of the late Nora Silva and aunt of the late Jeannie (Perry) Smith.

Funeral arrangements are at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton with visiting hours Tuesday 4-8pm and the procession on Wednesday at 9:30am. Funeral Mass is in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 School Street Stoughton at 10:30am. Burial service follows in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph Avenue/Washington Street, Canton.
