Obituary

FRANKLIN—Antonio J. “Satch” Talamini Jr. 78, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Monday October 18, 2010 at Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jane L. (Fressenden) Talamini, who died in 1998.
Born in Franklin, September 28, 1932 a son of the late Antonio J. and Josephine (Bartolomei) Talamini he was raised and educated in Franklin and was a 1952 graduate of Franklin High School. While a student at Franklin High School, Mr. Talamini pitched the first no-hitter in school boy baseball.
He retired in 1996 as working general foreman for the Town of Franklin Department of Public Works.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He attained the rank of Pfc. And was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in October 1954.
Mr. Talamini was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and could be found most days at the Franklin Senior Center with a pool stick in his hand. He also worked part-time as a parking assistant for the Rome Restaurant in Franklin.
He is survived by 5 sons; Antonio J. III of Bristol, NH, William A. of Allenstown, NH, Norman P. and his wife Tara of Bristol, NH, Jon A. and his wife Kim and Richard E. and his wife Valeda of Franklin, 4 sisters; Marian Melo and Dorothy Mucciarone of Franklin, Pauline Pizzanello and Sylvia Peloquin of Blackstone, 15 grandchildren; Shaina, Julianne, Norman II, Anthony, Mark, Tyler, Thomas, Eric, Jaclynn, Ryan, Ashley, Jeremy, Sierra, Joey and Michael, and 1 great grandchild Hailey.
He also leaves 4 stepsons Richard, Peter, and Michael Longley and Allan Starkweather & a stepdaughter Jane all of Georgia.
He was also the brother of the late Joseph, Lester, Walter and Richard Talamini, Gloria Mucciarone, and Claire Pretto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass, Saturday October 30th, at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin.
Interment will be held privately.
