Eric Leon Wheeler, age 65 passed away on October 19, 2010 at his home in La Grange Texas.
Eric was born on September 4 1945 the son of Edward and Anna (Gewickey) Wheeler in Parsons, Kansas. Eric had a love for life and enjoyed many past times. He took up cooking after his retirement from LCRA. Eric liked to be outdoors and was a hard worker and loved to tinker and could fix anything. He was into many activities such as drawing, shooting pool or playing darts. Eric enjoyed going to drink beer, play dominoes and just enjoyed visiting with his many friends. Above all he cherished his time with family and held a special spot for his first grand-daughter Rebecka, but loved all of his grand children.
He is survived by wife Lynda Wheeler of La Grange , daughter Christi and husband Tim Buchanek of Schulenburg, grand-daughters Rebecka Gartman , Amanda and Ashley Buchanek of Schulenburg, uncle Frank and wife Mary Gewickey of New York, sister-in-law Patsy and husband Bob Smith of Abilene, Texas, brother-in-law Thomas and wife Trudy Rutherford of Whon, Texas, brother-in-law Lloyd and wife Linda Rutherford of Whon, Texas and brother-in-law Hilary and wife Bellva Rutherford of Coleman, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Erica Wheeler, his parents Edward and Anna (Gewickey) Wheeler, brother Ron and wife Cathy Wheeler.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday October 20, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday October 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in La Grange.
Interment to follow at 4:00 PM at Whon, Texas.
