SHREWSBURY___Therese (Mercier) Marmat, 72, of 36 North Quinsigamond Ave., formerly of Worcester and Southbridge died Sunday Dec. 7 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester.
Her husband, George C. Marmat died Sept. 11, 1998. She leaves a daughter, Linda L. Miller of Richmond, R.I., a sister, Jean Benoit of Charlton; two grandchildren, Tracy Buzak and Trevor McDonald and two great-grandchildren Nathan and Sam. She was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Mercier and four sisters, Doris Gagnon; Rita Duplessie; Irene Boudreau and Cecile Belanger. She was born and raised in Southbridge, daughter of Henry and Rose (Gagnon) Mercier. She attended Southbridge High School.
Mrs. Marmat was a supervisor many years for Parker Metal Co., Worcester and retired several years ago.
The funeral will be held on Monday Dec. 15 with a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation, 295 Devonshire St., 4th Floor, Boston, Ma., 02110.
