LOWELL: Jeny "Jane" (Wojtkiewicz) Peterson, age 89, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell.
She was the beloved wife of Carl E. Peterson , who passed away in 1997.
Born in Tewksbury on November 16, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Victoria (Ul) Wojtkiewicz.
Jenny was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School. Following graduation, she attended the former Lowell Business College.
Mrs. Peterson resided in Winchester and then West Yarmouth for over 28 years until moving to Lowell.
While living in West Yarmouth, she was a communicant of St. Pius Church.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the General Electric Company in Lynn.
Jenny enjoyed flower gardening and attending family gatherings.
She is survived by two sisters, Priscilla Shaw of Arlington, TX and Alice Avila of West Yarmouth; her sister-in-law, Maureen (Grant) Wojtkiewicz of Tewksbury; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peterson was the sister of the late Helen Berthiaiume, Stella Hyde and John Wojtkiewicz.
Funeral prayers will be offered Monday, October 18th, at 11 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. Please omit flowers.
