Westport- Jeannette A. “Jean” (LaFrance) Fernandes, 82, of Westport died at home October 12, 2010. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Manuel R. Fernandes.
Mrs. Fernandes was born in Biddeford, Maine, daughter of the late Omer and Cecile (Belisle) LaFrance, and resided in Westport most of her life. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport. She was employed as a bookkeeper by Shabshelowitz & Co., Fall River. She was a member of the Royal Travelers and the former St. George Couples Club.
Survivors include her sons: Jeffrey A. Fernandes and his wife Laurie of Westport and Gary R. Fernandes and his wife Linda of Assonet; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Lindsey, Tanner, Nicholas and Sophia; and several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late Terry Francoeur, Norman, Robert and Raymond LaFrance.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 9:00 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church at 10:00 A.M.
Visiting hours Thursday, October 14, 2010, 4:00-7:00 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
