Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Oresta C. “Esther” (Papa) Frost, 80, died peacefully Sunday morning, October 10, 2010 at 10:10 a.m. from complications of leukemia at Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester, where she received exceptional compassionate care from both the Center's staff, and the wonderful people of Hospice of the North Shore.
Born July 28, 1930 in Staten Island, New York, daughter of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Messano) Papa, she became a long time resident of Gloucester. A hard worker, she was employed thru the years at Addison Gilbert Hospital, Gorton's of Gloucester, Bass Rocks Ocean Inn, and the Sandy Bay Motor Inn, Rockport. Her easy smile, kindness and willingness to help others made her many friends along the way. She will be greatly missed. She enjoyed life and it's simple pleasures, flowers, reading, gift shopping, cooking, over-decorating her home for every holiday, country western music, and weekend cruising in her car "Betsy" to yard sales and flea markets. She was especially proud of being both a grandmother, and a great-grandmother.
"If roses grow in Heaven, Lord Please pick a bunch for us. Place them in our Mother's arms And tell her they're from us. Tell her that we love her and we miss her, And when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek And hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy, we'll do it every day, But there is an ache within our hearts That will never go away." author unknown
She was the loving mother of Robert L. Frost, Jr. and his wife, Debra A. of Beverly, Sandra A. McLachlin and her husband, Douglas of Gloucester, Patricia J. Frost of Gloucester, and Linda L. Palmisano of Freemont, NH. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert A. Frost of Beverly, Nicholas A. Palmisano of Beverly Hills, Fl and Anthony C. Palmisano of Newmarket, NH, a great-grandson, Dylan Palmisano of Beverly Hills, Fl and her older brother, Carmen Papa of San Antonio, TX. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Garcia and special family friend, Charlie Cole.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 10am to 12 noon. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
