Berlin, MA
George “Tom” Anstine, 62, of Berlin, died Monday, Oct. 11th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Darlene L. (Pearson) of Berlin.
Tom was born and raised in Milford, Delaware, son of the late Daniel P. and Margaret A. (Manlove) Anstine. He attended local schools in Milford, Delaware and has resided in Berlin the past 30 plus years after moving from Maynard. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a supervisor for 20 years by the former Digital Equipment Corp. and Intel Corp. of Hudson until his retirement. Tom was very active in his community where he served on the Recreation Committee in Berlin, was a former Cub Scout leader, coached girl’s softball in Berlin and also coached “T” Ball and soccer at the youth level in Berlin. Tom especially enjoyed the many camping trips he shared with his wife, family and friends.
Besides his wife, Tom is survived by his two children, Justine St. John and her husband Arthur of Maynard and Jaren Anstine and his wife Monique of Clinton. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel P. Anstine and his wife Lynda of Williamsville, Delaware; his three grandchildren, Zachary and Emily St. John and Leila Anstine and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 15thfrom 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A funeral service will be held in Memorial Hall, 48 Central Street, Hudson on Saturday, Oct. 16th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Berlin.
