Joseph R. Jacques 80, of Dawes St. died Wednesday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was the husband of Lucille (Beausoleil) Jacques. Mr. Jacques was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Francois and Yvonne (Gagnon) Jacques. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Providence College. Mr. Jacques was a textile engineer for Geb Yarn in Fall River for many years before retiring in 1995. He was an amateur meteorologist and a member of the Association of American Weather Observers, the Blue Hills Observatory, the American Weather Observers Supplemental Observation Network, and the Atlantic Coast Observer Network.
Besides his wife he leaves a son Charles Jacques of Blackstone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Paul's Church, St. Paul St. in Blackstone. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home
