Mrs. Lillian H. (Larocque) Fitzpatrick, of Taunton, died Monday, October 11 in Marian Manor following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late William J. Fitzpatrick, Sr. She was born 104 years ago in North Attleboro, the daughter of the late Charles and Delima (Aschin) Larocque. She was educated in North Attleboro and had resided in Philadelphia, Pa. for a time before moving to Taunton 75 years ago. She was a former member and Recording Secretary of the Eagles Auxiliary in Taunton, and was a member of the former Friendly Senior Citizens Club and the former Immaculate Conception Church Womens Guild. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed needlework, playing bingo and cards, especially pinochle. The matriarch of her family, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 2 sons: William J. Fitzpatrick, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Canaan Maine, and Paul J. Fitzpatrick and his wife, Marie, of Taunton; 2 daughters: Marguerite McMullen of Northborough, and Lois A. Hill and her husband, Ralph, of Taunton and Vero Beach, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was also the sister of the late Victoria Benoit of No. Attleboro, Ida Lavender of Hollywood, Fla., and Rhea Waldron of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street on Wednesday, October 13 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
