Ada Kerr Whipple, 88, of Fitzgerald died Monday, October 11, 2010, at Osceola Health Care in Ocilla.
Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Mike Ruffin Officiating.
Mrs. Whipple was born July 29, 1922 in Wilkensburg, Pennsylvania to the late James T. and Catherine Brunner Kerr. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1998 and was a former resident of Leesburg, FL, Jackson, MI, Pittsburg, PA, Grand Rapids, MI and Ionia, MI. Mrs. Whipple worked for The Toy House in Jackson, MI for fourteen years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald and the Bethany Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Whipple is survived by her daughter: Bonnie P. (Morris) Downing of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Robert Downing, Cori Gillis and Scott Downing; great grandchildren: John Wesley Griffin, Kristen Manus, Eric Downing, Kaitlyn Manus and Wyatt Downing; sisters: Tille King of Bozeman, MT and Mollie Carroll of Watertown, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don H. Whipple, son, Eric “Rick” Pickering and two brothers, Grant S. Kerr and Robert W. Kerr.
