Marilynn Neat
Marilynn Neat, 74, passed away peacefully, October 8, 2010, with her family by her side. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life began in the state of Washington. She resided in Hingham for the last 34 years. She also managed a successful professional career which included 25 years with Glaxo SmithKline, and more recently she has served as the Massachusetts member of the Seattle Quorum Review Institutional Review Board. She was a mind body teacher and had been a member of the Board of Directors for the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center in Cambridge, MA for many years.
She had some special places in the world that she enjoyed; some include the Pacific Northwest, the coast and back woods of Maine and the south shore parks and beaches. Among many happy activities, a standout was a trip to Sweden with the entire family in celebration of Marilynn and George’s 50th wedding anniversary.
Marilynn is survived by her husband, George, and two sons. Greg and his wife, Lisa reside in LaCanada, CA with their children, Rita, Abbey and Leo; Paul and his wife, Karen, reside in Hingham with their children, Emma and Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2010 at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St. (Rt. 228) in Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trustees of Reservations, the South Shore Hospital/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, or to a charity of your choice.
