Wayne Fincher, 53, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Fincher was born May 7, 1957, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Joe Fincher and and the late Leila Mae Hall Glenn. He was a 1977 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Fincher was a former employee in the Maintenance Department of Ben Hill County and a former employee of Hometown Hardware. He was in the U. S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. Mr. Fincher was a member of the Baptist faith. He lived in Ben Hill County all of his life and was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Fincher is survived by his brothers: Gary (Janet) Dunn of Fitzgerald and Darrell (Valerie) Fincher of Ocala, Florida; sisters: Martha Grubbs of Douglas, Georgia and Ellen Ralph of Dunnellon, Florida; step brother Al Glenn of Osierfield, Georgia, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of Tift Area, P.O. Drawer 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
