GLOUCESTER: Miss Blanche E. Josselyn, 100, died Friday, October 8, 2010 at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Revere on June 20, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Andrew W. and Mary (Hosmer) Josselyn.
Her working career was spent at United-Carr, Inc., a subsidiary of TRW. She was a secretary and later became the employee benefits manager.
Miss Josselyn lived in Boston and Cambridge for many years before retiring and moving to Gloucester in 1972.
She volunteered at the Addison Gilbert Hospital Coffee Shop for many years, and at the Annisquam Village Church, where she served as Assistant Treasurer. She was also a member of the Annisquam Sewing Circle and the leader of a small book group.
She leaves behind no close relatives, but many cherished friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning in the Annisquam Village Church, 820 Washington Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be held in the Mt. Adnah Cemetery.
