Obituary

Eunice Hattie (Powell) Wright was born on February 7, 1922, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Harold and Imogene Powell.
Eunice was educated in the Boston Public Schools and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School for girls. She continued her education at Hampton University in Virginia.
She was employed in the Federal Services in Washington, D.C. and retired from the U.S. Department of Labor in 1982.
In her retirement, Eunice enjoyed her home on Martha’s Vineyard, traveling, swimming, paying cards, dancing and socializing with her many family and friends.
Eunice had been a contributing member of the West Medford Improvement Association, the West Medford Community Center and the NAACP. She loved the Lord. Eunice was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the Shiloh Baptist Church for many years. Prior to her death, she had also been a member of the West Medford Baptist Church.
Eunice Wright will be sorely missed by her beloved husband, Royal Wright, Sr. of 40 years and children; Royal, Jr., Victor and Bernadette sisters-in-law; Anna Watson and Hattie Butler and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford, Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eunice’s memory may be made to the West Medford Baptist Church Building Fund.
