Leo E. Jones, 61, of Richmond, Virginia, formerly of New Bedford died Sunday November 30, 2003 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Pearl M. Jones, and son of Inez (Bence) Cookman of New Bedford and the late Leo E. Jones.
Born and raised in New Bedford, he had lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Virginia 20 years ago.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond.
While living in Virginia, he was employed in restaurant management. He had previously worked in construction, as a real estate broker for Savaria Realty and at Grossman's Lumber when he lived in New Bedford.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; 2 sons, Ashley Leo Jones and Erick William Jones, both of Richmond; 2 daughters, Lorene Duffy of Hampton, NH, and Lynda Granger of Middleboro; and a grandson, Connor Duffy.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 6, 2003 at 1 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. His family will receive visitors from 12-1 PM, prior to the Service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
