Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Rita J. (Flynn) Voner, age 85, a resident of Tewksbury for the past three years, formerly of Arlington and Somerville, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at home, with her family by her side.
She was the wife of Frederick Voner, who passed away on November 6, 1983.
Born in Somerville on August 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William F. Flynn and was raised by the late Henry and Rose (Curran) Greener.
Rita was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a dietary supervisor at the Youville Hospital (formerly known as Holy Ghost Hospital) in Cambridge.
Mrs. Voner resided in Somerville and then Arlington for 20 years until moving to Tewksbury in 2007.
She was a communicant of St. Williams Church of Tewksbury.
Mrs. Voner was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Drop-In-Center and a former member of the Somerville and Arlington Senior Centers.
She enjoyed many activities especially crocheting, playing cards and traveling to Europe and throughout the United States.
Mrs. Voner is survived by her children, Rosemary Gibson and her partner Gary Gibson of Tewksbury, Frederick Voner and his wife Leahbeth of Marietta, OH, Richard Voner and his wife LeeAnn of Revere and CherylAnne Houde and her husband Steven of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, Jennifer Voner and her fiance Michael Juliano, Richard Voner, Jr., Maryanne, Shawn and Irene Houde; one great grandson, Mason Juliano.
Mrs. Voner was the sister of the late William and Mary Flynn.
Calling hours Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
