Anthony Andrews "TONY", 66, of Briggs Road, Foster, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Claire (Mayer) Andrews.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Anthony Andrews and Gloria (Pepin) Andrews Grimley of Hudson, FL. He had been a resident of South Attleboro before moving to Foster 31 years ago.
He was a carpenter for Local #94 for 44 years before retiring in 2002. He loved to cook, enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters Tammie Macaruso and her husband Robert of Foster, and Susan M. Rapoza and her husband Stephen of Cranston. He was the father of the late David A. Andrews. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Macaruso, and Erin and Joe Rapoza; his sisters, Elizabeth Gauvin, Barbara and Rodman Read, Janice and Paul Danesi; his brothers, Raymond and Debora Andrews, Michael and Patricia Andrews, John and LeeAnn Andrews, Mark and Cheryll Andrews and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gloria Bennett and Marie Andrews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Rt. 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Paul the Apostle Church, 116A Danielson Pike, Foster, Rhode Island. Burial in Saint Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the RI Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907.
