Atterbury, Jennifer Irene, 40, of Louisville went to see Jesus on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East.
Jennifer was a Baptist by faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ruth Atterbury.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Joe Atterbury; brothers, Dahl Atterbury and Paul Atterbury (Leslie); sisters, Peggy Shackelford and Teresa Munson; nieces, Angela Boyer (Jay), Jennifer Munson, Lesley Munson, and Estella Ruth Atterbury; and nephew, Jeffrey Atterbury.
Jennifer did not allow her disability to run her life. She was spirit filled, loved the Lord, and witnessed this love to many. She had a great sense of humor, loved to cook and eat, and was a devout “General Hospital” fan. She loved her family, especially her son, Joe and her loving companion, Mary. Throughout her years, she made many friends whom she cherished.
The family wishes to express gratitude towards Dr. Molloy Veal, Dr. Kenneth Anderson, and the staff at Baptist Hospital East for the years of care they gave to Jennifer.
Funeral service will be 11am, Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with interment to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-8pm on Friday at the funeral home.
