Obituary

Lavell C. Livramento, 68, of New Bedford died Friday October 1, 2010 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving and devoted husband of Pauline (Lomba) Livramento.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Michael J. and Judith (Tavares) Livramento, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

Mr. Livramento was formerly employed as a union carpenter for many years until his retirement.

He was a loyal and loving family man who enjoyed helping people. He had a strong work ethic. He was especially proud of his Cape Verdean heritage. He had a strong appreciation for the U.S. Armed Forces and all things military. He served in the ROTC during his high school years.

Survivors include his wife; 13 children, Keith Grace, Karen Grace-Baker, Kenneth Grace, Kathi Grace Brazil, Karyl Grace-Perry, Corinna Stancil, Lavell "Mokey" Livramento Jr., Judith Watkins, Kevin Livramento, Kyle V. Grace, Kimberly F. Grace, Lavell Affonseca, and Nadine Affonseca; his siblings, Nathan P. Livramento and Rhoda M. Purcell; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Tammy Livramento, great-grandfather of the late Drew Thomas Pimentel, Jr., and brother of the late Michael J. Livramento Jr.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Lavell C.
