Armando "Gus" Agusto, 92, of Londonderry, NH, died Thursday September 30, 2010 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Waterbury, CT on November 7, 1917, a son of Antonio and Maria (Emelia) Augusto, and had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 16 years, formerly living in Somerville, MA. Mr. Agusto was a US Army Air Corp veteran serving during WWII, and was a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Londonderry. He was member of the International Machinist's Union, and had been employed for the N.E. Confectionary Co. in Cambridge, MA, retiring in 1982. Mr. Agusto had also been a self employed real estate broker. He loved gardening and traveling to Portugal.
He is survived by his wife, Arminda Agusto of Londonderry; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Antonio A. (Patricia) Agusto of Millbury, MA, Louis P. (Jean) Agusto of Sterling, MA, and Robert P. (Kimberly) Agusto of Londonderry; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna (Charles) Amaru of Reading, MA; ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Calling hours were held on Monday, October 4th from 4:00 - 8:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30am in St. Marks Church, One South Road, Londonderry. The burial followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 10 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH.
