WEBSTER – Solange M. (Balcean) Niemiec, 84, passed away at her home on Friday, October 1, 2010 after being ill.
She leaves 4 children, E. George LePage of Dudley, Louise G. LePage and Joseph Niemiec, both of Webster, and Helen M. Niemiec of Webster, with whom she lived; 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Solange Brooks, and by 2 sons, Paul and Johnny LePage.
She was born and raised in Belgium, one of the 9 children of George and Sophie (Moureau) Balcean. She moved to this area in 1946. She worked at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley for many years before she retired.
She was greatly loved and will be missed.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, October 3, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
