Doris (Rancourt) Wainwright, 46, of Salem, NH and formerly of Lawrence passed away Monday September 27, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late, Rita and Jean-Luc Rancourt. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of 1981 and was employed by Mary Immaculate Nursing Home for many years and then worked for Prudential Insurance until 1996. Doris became a stay at home mom and frequently helped her husband at his business, Roy's Stop and Go in Lawrence. A devoted wife and mother, she particularly enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family, going to fairs, the beach and amusement parks. Even though she fell ill several years ago and suffering one set back after another, through faith and perseverance, she fought a very courageous battle with cancer. She had a positive outlook and was always willing to help others in need even while suffering through her own illness.
She leaves her beloved husband, Roy Wainwright, sons, Paul and William, a student at North Salem Elementary School, daughters, Rose and Deborah both students at Salem High School , sister-in-law and husband, Debbie Wainwright and Charles Gudaitis, Jr of Lawrence, mother-in-law, Shirley Wainwright of Haverhill, devoted aunt, Annette and uncle Jean Guy Rancourt of Waterville, Quebec as well as other aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family in Canada. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Claudette and Sylvie Rancourt of Quebec.
Calling hours will be on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral service will take place at 6:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund established for The Wainwright Children, Riverbank, 401 Main St., Salem, NH 03079.
