Obituary

James R. Keith, 81, a lifelong Medford resident passed away at his home, Sunday, November 30, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Theresa A. (Lenox).

Born and raised in Medford he was the son of the late Kathleen L. (Hurley) and William H. Keith. Following high school, Jim enlisted in the US Navy and served two tours during World War II. After the war, he worked as a supervisor for the Boston Globe for over forty-four years. He retired in 1988.

Jim was a devoted family man and was dedicated to his church and community. He enjoyed being a handyman for his family and was active in local political campaigns. He was a member of the Pinkham Associates and Post 45 American Legion of Medford.

Along with his wife Theresa, he is survived by his children Paula M. Lewis and her husband James, Colette M. Garcia and her husband Mark, James Reed Keith Jr. and his wife Paula M. Grant all of San Jose, CA., Mark L. Keith and his wife Sharon Brady of Medford, Also thirteen loving grandchildren. A sister Helen Keith of Stoneham, and his brother Paul Keith of Framingham. Also several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his late sister Anne Westcott and his brother William Keith.

His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, on Friday, December 5, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebarted in St. James Church, 779 Fellsway, Medford at 10. Relatives andd friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 3, from 7-9 and Thursday December 4, from 4-8.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent in Jim’s memory to the Medford Visiting Nurses Association, 278 Mystic Ave., Medford, MA 02155- or to Camp Joslin c/o the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
