Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Mary A. (Abban) Nawn, age 75, a resident of Tewksbury for over 40 years, passed away at home on Sunday, September 26, 2010, with her family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas L. Nawn, with whom she celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on February 5, 2010.
Born in Boston on February 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Christina (Butler) Abban.
Mary was raised in South Boston and graduated from St. Augustine's High School in 1952. Following graduation, she attended Boston College.
She resided in South Boston until moving to Tewksbury.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 29 years as a Library Aid by the Tewksbury School Dept.
Mary enjoyed making candles, boating and traveling with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by and was the devoted mother of eight children, Theodore A. Nawn and his wife Gail (LaBrie) of Dracut, Mary Ann Gargiulo and her husband Lou of Hampton Falls, NH, Christine Goolishian and her husband Raymond of Dracut, Carol Byron and her husband Larry of Pelham, NH, Elizabeth Pare and her husband Andre of Tewksbury, Thomas J. Nawn of Crofton, MD, Kathleen Conrad and her husband Michael of Pelham, NH and Timothy M. Nawn and his wife Cheryl (Loprete) of Nashua, NH; two brothers, Gerald Abban and his wife Janet of Hanover and David Abban of South Boston; her brother-in-law, Stephen Nawn of Woodstock, NH and Naples, FL; also nineteen beloved grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was the sister of the late Anthony, Joseph and Paul Abban and sister-in-law of the late George Nawn, Larry Nawn, Olga Nawn Benson.
Calling hours Thursday, Sept. 30, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lahey Clinic, c/o Oncology Dept., 41 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01805.
