Mark Joseph Cahill, age 54, son of the late Frances and Michael Cahill of Pembroke, died at his home in Marshfield, MA on September 22, 2010. He leaves behind his wife of twenty years, Dawn A. Cahill, his daughters Jessica M. Cahill of East Bridgewater and Amanda B. Cahill of Bridgewater, son in law Keith Pearson of East Bridgewater and grandson, Connor Michael Pearson. He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Michelle Lane, Scituate, Maureen Pulkinen, Spencer, OH, Michael Cahill, Land O’ Lakes, FL, Mathew Cahill, Pembroke, Mitchel Cahill, Pembroke, the late Martin Cahill, Halifax; also many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mark was the owner-operator of The Family Room Restaurant and Custom Catering, in Hanson, until 1992. He also ran a successful business at the Hanson Athletic Association kitchen for many years. Mark completed two Associates in Science degrees at Massasoit Community College. He then became a valued employee of the college, working in the Registrar’s Office and as the Administrative Assistant of the Massasoit Conference Center. Mark leaves behind many close colleagues and friends from his time at Massasoit.
Mark had found great fulfillment volunteering at the Veterans Hospital, Brockton Campus; assisting fellow veterans in the Spinal cord unit. He leaves behind his most dearest of friends there.
At the time of his death Mark was completing his studies toward a Certificate in Drug and Alcohol Counseling at the Umass Dartmouth campus in Plymouth, MA. Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 28th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rte 14, Pembroke Center) Pembroke MA. A service will be held Wednesday September 29th at the funeral home at 10am with a burial to follow at Center Cemetery, Pembroke MA.
