WORCESTER-Our beloved mother, Clara M. (Camarra) Anderson, 88, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Friday, September 24th in the Life Care Center of Auburn. Her husband of 40 years, John E. Anderson, died in 1984. She leaves a son, Arthur L. Anderson of Worcester and his three children, Allegra, Thomas, and Jody; a daughter, Carol A. Nester, wife of the late Wesley Nester, their son, James A. Nester and his wife Christina of North Brookfield, and Carol’s friend Joseph Dynof of Cherry Valley; a brother, Louis Camarra and his wife Patricia of Worcester; two sisters, Dorothy, wife of the late Paul Marzilli of Worcester and Jean Cariglia and her husband Dante of Auburn; six great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Camarra of Worcester and June Camarra of Leicester; several cherished nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, John E. Anderson in 1963, a brother, Joseph Camarra, and a sister, Mary Camarra.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Luigi and Lucy (Del Conte) Camarra and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School, where she became a seamstress and superb cook. Mrs. Anderson was a cook and cafeteria manager at Elm Park Community School and Chandler Magnet School, before retiring after 25 years of service to the City of Worcester. She loved the years spent feeding the faculty, children and anyone else that visited her school. Clara was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Worcester Retirees Association.
Clara was full of energy, embraced hard work, and was always a loving and caring person. She was a gentle woman who cherished her family and was devoted to her friends. She was happiest in the kitchen cooking her specialties. We miss you, Mom!
The funeral is Monday, September 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, September 26th in the funeral home.
