Patricia J. (Nicholson) Jacobs, 59, of Foxboro formerly of Attleboro and Norton passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 20, 2010 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. She was the beloved wife of Leo M. Jacobs to whom she was wed for the past 39 years.
Born in Chelsea, MA on July 28, 1951 she was a dear daughter of Jane E. (Chandler) Nicholson of Foxboro and the late Thomas J. Nicholson, Jr.
Patti grew up and was educated in Walpole and Foxboro and was a 1970 graduate of Foxboro High School. A resident of Foxboro for the past 8 years she had formerly made her home in Attleboro for 20 years and also resided in Norton for several years.
A former Silk Screener, Mrs. Jacobs had formerly worked for 20 years at the RS Silk Screening Co., a business located in the Chartley section of Norton.
Patti loved nature, especially watching out for and feeding the birds that frequented her home. She had recently taken a cruise to the Caribbean’s with her husband and granddaughter and several years ago enjoyed the beautiful sceneries on a trip taken aboard a 75 foot schooner.
Mrs. Jacob’s treasured the times spent with her cherished family, especially with her grandchildren and will be fondly remembered for her exceptional cooking skills.
In addition to her beloved husband and dear mother she is survived by her devoted children Jeremy C. Jacobs of Kansas and Amy P. Jacobs of Mansfield. The dear sister of Mary Dodds of Ontario, Canada, Thomas Nicholson, III of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Michael Nicholson of Attleboro, Kathleen Fullerton of Clinton, Stephen Nicholson of Santa Barbara, California and William Nicholson of West Boylston, she is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Jaynie Jacobs of Foxboro, Hailey Wienz of Attleboro and Rory Gallagher of Mansfield, also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday September 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave. ) Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday September 26th from 4-7 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Patti’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary 37 Eddy Street Norton, MA 02766.
