Obituary

Edith Irene Ayers Nelson, 83, of Pinnacle, wife of the late, Kenneth “Arthur” Nelson, passed away on Sunday, September the 19th, 2010, at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury, NC. She was born on July 13th, 1927 in Surry County, to the late, James “Arthur” and Cora Bottoms Ayers. Mrs. Nelson was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery in Winston-Salem, NC.Mrs. Nelson is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, Kenneth and Brenda Nelson, Larry and Shirley Nelson, Arnold and the late Pamela Lynch Nelson; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Robert “Bob” Money Sr. and the late Peggy Sue Nelson (daughter), all from Pinnacle, NC.; four grandchildren, Tony and Melissa Willard of Pinnacle, Jordan and Jennifer Nelson of Pilot Mountain, Ryan and Whitney Bennett of Mt. Airy and Chasidy and Jesse Hill of Pinnacle; three great-grandchildren, MeKayla and McKenzie Willard and Callee Hill, all from Pinnacle; step-grandchildren are; Robert (Rob) Money, Jr., and Julie, Rev. Randall and Kim Money, all of King, Cheryle and Kevin Settle of Pinnacle, Rodney Money of Winston-Salem; step great-grandchildren, Austin Money of Fayetteville, Elizabeth Wilmoth, Christopher Money and Saleen Gardner, all of King, Rebecca Harrison of Pinnacle, Alex and April Settle of King and Jack Money of Los Angeles, Calif; two brothers, Rev. Roby Ayers of Winston-Salem and Ray Ayers of Pinnacle. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter; four brothers, Jack, Marshall, Marvin and James Ayers; and one sister, Hester Barneycastle Shinault. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Pinnacle Church of God at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Ruby Davis and the Rev. Ken Barnett officiating with interment to follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to the Pinnacle Church of God Building Fund, PO Box 544, Pinnacle, NC 27043The family would like to thank Dr. Samuel Newsome and staff and the staff at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital for their kindness shown during this time.Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is respectfully serving the Nelson family.
